Post 16 Work Experience

A cornerstone of our vision at Post 16 @ MLT is that all students should leave prepared for life in modern Britain. All students in the Maltby Learning Trust engage with a rich provision of classroom and extra-curricular activities that develop the full range of character attributes in education and employment.

Work experience is an important and integral part of the Post 16 experience as by building strong links with local, regional and national employers; students gain valuable employability skills, develop career aspirations and benefit from employment opportunities as they consider progression routes into employment, further education or training. We have therefore included it in the calendar for Year 12 students to complete work experience. In the past, we have found the most effective placements are those, which are arranged by students themselves through parents/carers, relatives or friends. Please download the documents below to help with this process.

Previous years have seen Year 12 students engage with various employers across South Yorkshire including Ben Cliff working at Technicuts, Declan Garner at Redroad FM and Ella Nartey at MHA Architects. Click on the links below to read about Ben and Declan's week.
