Staying Safe

As this terms draws to a close I am sure we all share a common sense of shock and sadness in respect of the incident in Manchester on 22 May 2017.  A natural consequence of this is that some of us will also feel worried and anxious.  In the Academy we have delivered presentations in tutor time which aimed to provide reassurance to children, help them explore how they felt about the incident and encouraged them to talk to someone if they felt worried.

During next half term we have a number of trips and events taking place; our aim is to ensure that children participate in and enjoy these as they normally would. We are aware however that security has been tightened in response to the incident and it may be that there is  a noticeable presence of police and other services  at some venues.

We would like to reassure you that as an Academy, our planning and safety procedures are taking account of advice received from the Local Authority and South Yorkshire to ensure that we are safeguarding children to the best of our ability. If you do have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your House Manager or trip leader.
