Aaron's karate success

Aaron's karate success!

Year 8 student, Aaron Burkinshaw came second in his category at the recent English Karate Federation KYU grades English Championships 2020.

There were 16 people competing in the 12-13 years high grade kata section and Aaron got to the final where he narrowly lost 2-1 achieving a silver medal. It was only his second time competing in the high grade section so this is a massive achievement to be proud of.

Aaron has been doing karate for 5 years after first trying it on his birthday. He trained in sport karate for three years before deciding to move into traditional karate, which Aaron has practised for the last two years. He trains twice a week!

Aaron is now a purple belt and is working towards a brown belt. He has already secured the following belts – white, yellow, orange, green and blue. Only brown and black to go!
