GCSE Exam Result Collection

GCSE Results Day – Thursday 20th August 2020

As you will be aware, Ofqual have ensured that all Year 11 students will collect their GCSE results on the original day they had planned, despite the turbulence that has surrounded formal assessment processes this academic year. This year, Maltby Academy will deliver results day in a manner that is conducive to the maintenance of ‘social distancing’. This letter sets out the process for Year 11 students collecting their GCSE results.

We feel that it is vital that all our Year 11 students to have the opportunity to collect their GCSE and BTEC results, enrol for their Post 16 provision and speak to members of staff. Consequently, students will be allowed access to the Academy site to do this.

How will students collect their results?

Results will be available for collection from 8.30am. Students should not arrive at the Academy before this time and upon arrival they should adhere to social distancing. Students will collect their results by surname and will be allocated a specific entrance.

The tables below highlights your child’s allocated entrance:

If students have any queries or questions regarding their results, they will be able to speak to members of staff including the Year 11 team, Post 16 team and Senior Leadership team. Careers advisers will also be available on site as well as via phone lines and online chats to offer further guidance. If required, follow up meetings can also be arranged.

Unfortunately, parents/carers will not be permitted to accompany children when collecting results.

What happens if students are unable to attend and require someone else to collect their results?

Another person may collect the results but must bring a signed letter confirming permission to do so from the student. This person must also present proof of their own identity. Results cannot be given out without this.

What happens if students do not collect their results?

Results will remain in school and will need to be collected at a suitable time.
