Each Sixth Form student leader will be expected to:

Complete a lunch duty once per week

Lead and promote major Inter-House competitions

Assisting a House Manager organising and running one parents' evening per year

Volunteering in a whole school area of interest to them e.g. peer teaching younger students, coaching etc.

In addition, the Head Boy and Girl and their team assist with the Academy’s ceremonial  events such as rewards assemblies and chair a termly School Council where the Sixth Form council and Lower School council can discuss all aspects of student learning and enrichment experiences and provide feedback to school leaders.

Sixth Form leaders should be available to represent the Academy at other evening events such as the Year 6 Open Evening, Year 11 Opportunities Evening, Sports Presentation Evening and Sixth Form Awards

These opportunities are invaluable in developing life skills such as time management, leadership and team work and are regarded favourably by universities and employers as part of a student’s CV. In addition, the senior prefects are excellent role models for our younger students and play an important part in the everyday life of Maltby Academy.
