Role at Maltby Academy: Associate Head of Sixth Form
I am responsible for ensuring all of our students at Key Stage 5 are supported to achieve their potential across all of their courses of study. By working closely with students, subject teachers, our team of form tutors and support from parents, we are making improvements for all at KS5. I am also a teacher of ICT, working with students across all Key Stages to achieve consistently successful results. During my 5 years at Maltby I am also proud to have also studied for and achieve a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning, my experience of which has helped to shape my classroom and leadership practice.
Life before Maltby Academy: I achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Business and Technology from Sheffield Hallam University in 2008. I have worked in a number of roles including broadcast strategist for ITV based in London before deciding to move in to teaching. I achieved my Post Graduate Certificate in Education in 14-19 Information and Communication Technology at Sheffield Hallam University in 2010. Having trained in both secondary and post 16 education providers, I started my teaching career at Maltby Academy in September 2010.
