LIFE CHANGING ENRICHMENT
At Maltby Academy, we are committed to an ambitious, inclusive enrichment programme as a core part of our personal development offer. While we have long offered a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, we identified that some students could not attend after-school activities due to barriers such as transport and family responsibilities. This limited access to experiences that build cultural capital and prepare them for the next stage of education and life.
In our context, we recognise that access to high-quality enrichment cannot be left to chance or confined to beyond the school day. To ensure equity, we have embedded enrichment into the timetabled curriculum. This guarantees all students experience a broad range of opportunities
beyond the academic, supporting their personal development, cultural capital and aspirations. By removing barriers to participation, all students are exposed to new interests, skills and pathways, enabling them to thrive in a competitive world and lead successful, fulfilling lives.
