Y12 students have taken part in the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales (ICAEW) Base event.
This was a fantastic opportunity to work alongside professionals in the industry working on adapted real life case studies used in the final Chartered Accountancy exam.
They had to work through the scenario alongside a mentor and present a professional financial pitch to a panel of real life financial directors which they did confidently and to a high standard. They also got an insight into other aspects of accountancy and finding out it wasn't all number crunching alongside the opportunity to network with potential future employers.
All performed to a high standard demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills and the ability to work to a tight deadline. Despite doing well they did not get through to the final but they should be proud of the work they did just as we are at how they represented the Academy.
