Maltby Academy’s official opening of the buildings was a momentous occasion for the Academy and the community in which to celebrate the work that has been undertaken that will benefit the young people now and in the future.
Since education began in Maltby in 1714, Maltby has always played a significant role in terms of educating the young people in the community. It continues today with the formation of the new Maltby Learning Trust in February 2014 with our mission to provide the highest quality of education possible allowing all of our children and young people to achieve their full potential. The state of the art facilities encompasses this vision and philosophy.
The £10.9 million building project has seen new buildings erected, including the Business and Enterprise Centre. The Academy has also had a full refurbishment throughout and in partnership with the Football Foundation, a 3G pitch has also been developed.
Special guests, the community and students were all part of this occasion. The Earl and Countess of Scarbrough officially opened the Business and Enterprise Centre, Mr Ron Buck BEM JP opened the Sports Facilities and the RT Hon Richard Caborn opened the 3G pitch. Guests also toured the buildings and saw classes at work.
A historic occasion for Maltby.
