National Women in Engineering Day (NWED) has been celebrated all week at MA with various activities taking place.
The week is dedicated to raising the profile and celebrating the achievements of women in engineering. Activities have included Key Stage 3 doing an activity on balloon powered cars, Key Stage 4 have been taking part in a Structural Engineering Challenge. Y10 and Y12 students have also had a presentation from Dr Caroline Kirk who is an engineering lecturer from Loughborough University. Dr Kirk has been speaking to budding students interested in chemistry, physics and engineering about her career and the technique of x-ray diffraction.
